John McCain och kvinnors ”hälsa”

Se och njut av det här klippet från The Daily Show, där komikern Samantha Bee formligen slaktar den republikanske presidentkandidaten John McCain och hans inställning till sexuell och reproduktiv hälsa.

Thank you John McCain for finally exposing the seedy underbelly of the women’s ‘health’ scam. Let’s face it, women love abortions and will do anything to get one. The later, the better! (…) Reasonable people can disagree about abortion, but still agree on the unimportance of women’s health. (…) I’m sure if John McCain were raped and had a baby growing in his penis, he would want it publicly discussed at the same level of abstraction. Without concern for his specific ‘life’ or ‘penis’.

Inslaget blir lite mindre lustigt när man betänker att en majoritet av USA:s kvinnor i praktiken inte har tillgång till abort, trots en federal lag som garanterar den rätten. Den svensk som inte tycker att det spelar någon roll vem som vinner det amerikanska presidentvalet är faktiskt i en lite annan sits än den kvinna från Nord- eller Syddakota som i dag har en enda abortklinik att vända sig till – i de två enorma staterna tillsammans.
